How and when I was introduced to Thoroughbred racing: Through NBC when I started working on our coverage four years ago.
My favorite part of being a sports broadcaster: That it rarely feels like work! A fact that is mostly due to the wonderful people I get to spend time with on the job.
Best sporting event I’ve ever covered: The 2015 Belmont [Stakes] is right at the top of the list.
My favorite racetrack: It’s tough to choose. I love Santa Anita and Saratoga. But I have a feeling Del Mar is going to make an impression ...
My favorite Thoroughbred racing event: I love the Kentucky Derby. There’s nothing quite like it. It’s a beautiful event filled with time-honored traditions and at the end of it, you are always hopeful that a new Triple Crown winner’s journey has begun.
Other sports/teams I follow: I work on many NBC Sports properties with a real sense of pride. I love learning new things and meeting new athletes and coaches. Our NFL, Olympic and NASCAR coverage is likely where you’ll find me when I’m not at the track.
Three words that define what Thoroughbred racing means to me: Beauty, athleticism and complexity.
Favorite all-time Thoroughbred: American Pharoah
My personal best moment in the sport of Thoroughbred racing: Listening to the crowd after American Pharoah won the Triple Crown.
Best racetrack food can be found at: The Santa Anita track kitchen is legit in the morning!
Person in Thoroughbred racing I’d like to have dinner with: George Woolf
